I looked at a nearly perfect 2.0 a few years ago, the guy wanted $12k and I thought he was crazy. Of course that was right around when I almost bought a (somewhat rough driver) Dino for $85k. So what I am telling you is that if you want to buy cars an investment, don't talk to me. :)

This. A good friend of mine had three 914s, all running, all not terribly rusty, all acquired for less than $3k, less than 10 years ago.

I think my 2 1.7s were a package deal. One runner and one complete running parts car for $1000 that also could have been put back to life easy enough, 15 years back
